SUNSCREEN: --NO AEROSOLIZED SUNSCREEN!!! ***In 2015 Senate Bill 265 passed and approved students to possess and apply topical sunscreen products while on school property or at a school-related event or activity to avoid overexposure to the sun . Sunscreen is not to be shared. Sunscreen is not to be used for any other purpose than application to exposed skin prior to outside activities. The sunscreen used on school property must be approved by the FDA for over-the-counter use and a non-aerosol product.
All medications left over the summer will be disposed of prior to next year!
CRUTCHES/WHEELCHAIR/PHYSICAL RESTRICTION: **In order to have an assistive device on campus (crutches wheelchair, walker, etc). parent must provide doctor's notestating need for use otherwise per NEISD policy student cannot have the device on campus **$20 deposit for elevator keys (cash or check)
**Extra time between classes can be given if indicated by doctor
Reminders:
Check your medication expiration dates! No expired medications may be given at school.
New doctor's orders are needed each year.
Bring the nurse any updates on your shot record.
News from the Nurse:
**Remember a child should be fever free for 24 hours without medication to return to school!
**All medications must be kept in clinic unless nurse has a signed waiver from doctor and parent on file. Over the counter medications may be given for 10 days with parent notes (1 time per year for each medication).Cough drops MUST have doctor's note.
**If your child has pink eye, diarrhea, vomiting, or an undiagnosed rash please keep at home. Pink eye must be kept at home until seen by doctor and medication has been started.
**Please let the nurse know if your child has a contagious illness.
